We built this. It’s weirdly functional.

This photo is from our first backpacking trip. The packs were enormous. The trail was long. Someone nearly overdosed on GORP—Good Old Raisins and Peanuts, except ours was made entirely of candy and zero raisins, because we made it ourselves and we make choices now.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, we decided we liked this. The walking, the woods, the deep philosophical disagreements about how long it takes to start a fire with damp birch bark and misplaced confidence.

Now we’ve built Shorter on Map—a growing collection of AI-powered tools for people who want to plan an adventure without spending four hours rage-googling “how much couscous per person.”

You give us a few trip details—how long, how hungry, how committed to not sleeping in a puddle—and we’ll give you:

  • A gear list

  • A meal plan

  • A slightly overconfident tip planner

We made these tools because we needed them. And because combining the outdoors, artificial intelligence, and a mild obsession with getting things almost right seemed like a fun challenge.

So welcome. Plan something. Pack weirdly. Try not to eat all your snacks on day one.

We’ll be out there—testing, arguing, building something new.
